When this photo was taken, it was Shabbat and there is little or no traffic other than walking that passes by our apartment. This boy was a group of five boys with their mother as they walked along the street. This child was in the process of contemplating his own shadow as can be seen. He stood there for probably two or three minutes thinking. I wondered what thoughts might be going around in his head.
Job 14:1-2 “Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; he flees like a shadow and does not continue.
Psalm 39: 6-7 Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them. “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
Hebrews 10:1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
