Dwelling Place

Deserted House

2Corinthians 5:1-8 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

It seems to me that this abandoned or deserted building kind of represents this body of flesh that we live in. Once the tenant moves out to live somewhere else, it is no longer needed or useful for anyone or anything else. It usually gets torn down, as is about to happen with this building, or it just decays into the ground, as do our bodies after the tenant has gone to live somewhere else. It is impossible to say where the tenant of this house may have gone to live as to the casual observer there is no forwarding address.
Did the tenant have any kind of saving plan for the move or was it a sudden event where nothing had been prepared for the day of moving. This move could have been a sudden occurrence with no premeditation or plan for the future. Was there a vision for moving or strategy? It seems to me that everyone gets an advertisement on what is needed to move into the afterlife of the Kingdom of God. The Father of all creation wants everyone to come into His Kingdom and is quite adamant about making sure that we all get the flyer about the wonderful dwelling place prepared in His Kingdom and what is needed to enter before moving day arrives. Everyone gets the call in one way or another about His desire for us to be a part of His Kingdom. Not so with the other destination when moving day arrives cause that landlord has no desire for you to know just what kind of dwelling place he has in store for those who say no to Gods Kingdom. Now is the time to secure a ticket for your seat on the Creators transport system as we do not have any idea when that day will arrive.

  1. something went awry with the image link here as its not showing but perhaps it helps the tenant focus more on reading the flyer!
