An Offering

Exodus 35:4-5 Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing which the Lord has commanded.  Take from among you an offering to the Lord; whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s offering: gold, silver, and bronze; (and etc.)

Luke 6:38 Give and men will give to you—yes, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will they pour into your lap. For whatever measure you use with other people, they will use in their dealings with you.” (J. B. Phillips translation)

In my opinion, “a generous heart” seem to be the key words here. One who gives in order to get something back has not given with a generous heart. One who gives only because it is a duty has not given out of a generous heart. One who gives with the desire only to bless with their giving, has given from a generous heart. A spiritual law?
