Exodus 14:9 So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea
Continuing from yesterday’s post, it occurs to me that the Israelites that were leaving Egypt were on foot and riding donkeys and there were something like roughly a million people, led by Moses. Pharaohs’ army consisted of troops on horseback as well as in chariots and with weapons of war to defeat this ragtag bunch of upstarts who fully intended to defy the powers of Egypt. It also occurs to me about the days we live in, that there are armies that would like to and have sworn to eliminate the Jewish people and the land of Israel. They are united as nations against the God of Israel just as it was so many years ago at the time of the Egyptian exodus.
