Seedtime and Harvest

James 3:8-10 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

In my observation, it seems to hold true with seedtime and harvest that the seeds we plant with our tongue not only come out of the heart, as the scripture reveals, but they also grow in our hearts. Whatever we primarily focus on is what grows. If we are constantly spewing out hatred that will grow and grow in our hearts till that is what we are. If constant complaints, that is what we will harvest, the things we are constantly complaining about. If, on the other hand we are constantly pouring out thoughts of love and compassion that will be our harvest in life. Personally, I plan on harvesting a field of flowers rather than a field of thistles.
