“In the Beginning”

2 Peter 1:19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; I am continually reminded the the God of Creation wants us to seek Him as to this light. This light of Jesus is shining in a darker and darker world day by day and I believe we are well advised to reflect some of that creation light into this world of darkness. We must.

Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.  And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.  God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

This Creator God, Father of Light in whom there is no darkness, without shadow of turning, who also is the author of “Truth”, “Peace”, “Love”, “Compassion”, “Kindness”, “Joy”, and “Faithfulness”, has the ability to take our lives out of darkness into His marvelous “Light”. But, beyond all this, He has the ability to give us an eternity of all of the above where we will always be looking forward to the next glorious moment of being in His presence. There will never, ever be sadness, pain, suffering or misery in His eternal Kingdom. Every moment will feel like it has only just begun and could there be anything as awesome as this very moment and yet the next moment is as if it could not be any better or more exhilarating, full of wonder and joy.

That other god, the one with the very little “g” has a very different eternity awaiting those who have decided to walk in the darkness with him. Steal, kill and destroy is his motto and we see him at work all over the world today. Thus, we are entering the days just like the days of Noah. Don’t be fooled by a “moment” of pleasure which leads to an eternity of pain and suffering, “Choose Life”.
