1John 2:11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
In scripture, according to the book of Matthew, I see two possibilities for the after-life of persons that have turned their backs on the Creator God and His Son Yeshua/Jesus. On the one hand, you have, A. those who are quite obviously followers of Satan as they do what He does, lie, steal, kill, and destroy. On the other hand you have, B. those who are basically good people but have refused to accept the Son that the Creator has sent as the doorway to life, as the Light of the world, as the Messiah
- Matthew 13:42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
- Matthew 25:30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
The torment of either of these places is too very awful for me to consider, on the one hand to endure a continual burning and probably experiencing the torture of the same kind which that one may have inflicted on others but it never finishes you off. It just goes on eternally moment after moment after moment with absolutely no escape or repentance possible. This form of eternity is uncomprehend-able to imagine. On the other hand, we have outer darkness and aloneness for an eternity where again, there is no escape, only you and the darkness forever and ever and no way to change the situation or repentance available, no hope, no possibility of it ever being any different. The Creator God wants neither of these situations for humanity. I believe He has in mind an eternity in the Garden as He had designed it in the beginning. This will be a Garden where all Good things are possible without end.
These are my personal opinions and all very simply put as this is a “blog”, not an extensive “book” on the subject. There are way too many views and analagies to consider here.
