Genesis 1:22-23 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
With over thirty-six thousand varieties and each multiplying at the rate of naught, just how many of these varieties do we suppose there might be in the world today, billions upon billions I would suspect?
It was an ecological paradise for all of this as they all played their part in keeping the environment clean. And the other thing is that all of these fish and birds are self-sustaining from the environment in which they live. Each organism sustains itself by taking in food, eliminating waste which in most cases adds to the fertilizing of the earth and does this over and over, keeping its motor running as well as keeping the earths motor balanced.
