Matthew 8:26-27 He (Yeshua) said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
We can ask the same question, who can this man, Yeshua, be? In some places in the Bible, Yeshua calls Himself ‘the son of man’ in other places He puts Himself in the position of being equal to God most High. It appears from this verse that He has some quite extreme authority. He is able to command the natural elements of this world and they obey Him. In the book of Hebrews, Paul, the Apostle, who was very versed in the scriptures before his meeting with Yeshua and he states that He is God manifest in the flesh. Hebrews 1:8 to the Son (Yeshua) He (God) says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. Now in my mind, that puts Yeshua in a position of absolute dominion over everything including the wind, waves and sickness. He, Yeshua, has authority because He is the authority and is under authority.
