John 3:5 (The Message Bible) Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom.
I should like to use another analogy which is one of my favorites; when I was a child, there was a candy store in town called “The Kandy Kettle”, I used to look through the window at all the wonderful shapes and sizes and textures of the candies. He did a big business in taffy that he would make in the store window which was fascinating to watch. As a child, I had no money and so, never entered the store but would just press my nose up against the glass, like a lot of other kids, and imagine what some of the delicacies tasted like. There came a day when I actually had some birthday money in hand and dared to enter that kingdom of candy. Wow! To taste and see that it was so good. It is the same with the Kingdom of God; you must have the “born again” credentials in order to not just “see” but to “enter” The Kingdom of God. Then and only then can you taste and see that the Lord is good.
