Genesis 1:3-5 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
John 12:46 (Yeshua said) I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
(This is a very crude example of what the New Jerusalem might look like.)
Revelation 21:10-11 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
Revelation 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
The picture is one that I copied off the web of what the New Jerusalem might look like. She is supposed to look like a sparkling jewel adorned for her Husband and according to the Word, she is around 1500 miles in width and in depth and in height. She is a big city to say the least and there is no need of sun or moon or light fixtures as there will be continual light emanating from this awesome God of Creation.
This is a Spiritual city of God far exceeding what we now see in the heavens. As I see it, the heavens as Hubble has shown us will dwarf in beauty by comparison of what is to come for those who will dwell there. I suppose we will live in glass houses as we have nothing to hide. It is a Spiritual world.
