Genesis 1:11-13 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
As I was just sitting and thinking about not much of anything, as men do, I had this thought about plants. I will start at the beginning and get into the depth of this thought as I go.
Back in 1987, I heard a word from the Lord, “Go to Israel, I’ll tell you what to do when you get there.” As I knew this was God’s voice, I gave notice to my employer and packed two suitcases and arrived in Israel on 21 April 1987. I had taken a tour with a group but intended to stay in Israel when the tour finished. One in the group prayed over me as they prepared to leave me behind; “The Lord will lead you out of this land a few times but He will bring you back and plant you here.” That was actually quite prophetic as it turned out. I obtained a volunteer employment at a Christian organization as a photographer. In the next twenty-five years, I had opportunity to visit England, Belgium, Germany, Poland and the Ukraine besides living once again in the United States for four years. Once back in Israel, we had applied for temporary residence and the Ministry of Interior took our request to committee and came back with the verdict that we could stay on temporary residence visa for the rest of our lives. There are a lot of extenuating circumstances that makes that possible but never the less; it looks like the Lord has planted me here as I have no desire to go anywhere else, I love it here.
Now, back to the beginning thought about plants and planting; as we all know, plants need water and fertilizer or good ground to grow in and produce whatever fruit it is required to produce after its kind. It doesn’t matter whether it is a tree, bush, and flower or to go further, animal, bird, fish or creeping thing, we all need water which includes man. As it turns out, we all, man as a species, needs good ground to grow in as well. Ephesians 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. Thus, we are washed and cleansed and given to drink that which is absolutely necessary for our survival. So, yes, I believe God has planted me in this land and I fully expect that someday, I shall die and be buried here, fully planted in this wonderful land.
