“Why is it so difficult to believe in a God of Creation rather than the Darwin theory or the proverbial ‘Big Bang’ theory? Or, we can just accept anything else that sounds good and plausible to us. Then maybe we can believe in anything that gives us credibility and follows whatever sort of idea we have come up with for this life that we live. As a true believer in this God of Creation I thought about this for a minute or two and as I look around at all that seems to be happening in the world and how dark it is becoming, I realized it is because believing in a God of Creation causes us to become accountable for our actions. Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; The majority do not want to be accountable to anything but ourselves. Just look at some of the statements being made today, “If it feels good, do it” or from a few years ago, “What, me worry”.

Unfortunately for those who hold that understanding, this God of Creation has authored a book which sets out some do’s and don’ts and there consequences. Oops, that puts us under a yoke of accountability as we can no longer just go our merry way doing whatever we want to do without accepting the consequences. We are back to my statements about seed-time and harvest and whatever you plant you shall reap. There is that terrible accountability again. The people during Noah’s day had the same outcome. We must face the truth of His word, if we are not following the Creators understanding, we shall reap our just rewards.

That’s my thought for today…

“In the Beginning”

Genesis 1

Genesis 1:1-2 (RSV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
I am not sure I know why but I have been stuck in Genesis 1 for a very long time, however, this word came to me this morning as I was doing my daily walk.
In the beginning of you and me, we were formless and void in our mother’s womb and I believe that God was moving over the deep of who He was creating us to be. King David in the book of Psalms, writes, Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance;” .  Even before we were formed into existence, He knew us. In His book, all was written, the days formed for us before yet there were any of them. Since this Creator God lives outside of time, (a very difficult concept to wrap one’s mind around) He has seen what He has prepared for us and all the days we will go through to get us there. No, He has not predestined us, but He has seen where we are at this moment and either how far off course we have taken ourselves or how close we are to what He had planned for us.
We must remember that it says in 1 Timothy 6:16 who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen. This God has the very best in store for those who will want to at least look at the plans He has for us and see the beautiful ending of each of our lives. Doom and gloom only comes from turning away from that Light in which He dwells. He wants us to spend an eternity in joy and peace and all the experiences He has for us if we will just give Him the opportunity to reveal His goodness to us.
There is so much more that He has revealed to me today but this is enough to chew on for now. Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts.

“A Badge of Merit”

Buddy and Judy 1950

Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith.

(From Wikipedia) Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within the area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The award of a merit badge is represented by circular patch with an image representing the badge’s topic.

As I was a Boy Scout when in America at the age of 12, I had earned a couple of these badges, I forget what the topic was but probably camping and swimming or something like that. My purpose of bringing this up is something the Lord impressed me with just yesterday.

Recently, I had a cancerous growth “Markel Cell Carcinoma” on my right arm. After a season of prayer and a more full understanding of how to pray for such things, the growth began to shrink to the point where it no longer exists. I had blood tests and the effects of this cancerous growth no longer exist in my system. However, there is still a small circular red mark which is completely smooth but red, left on my arm from the cancer. As I was meditating on this and asking the Lord about this, I was impressed with the thought, it is your merit badge of faith in healing. Wow, I like that very much and I now look at it with honor, Thank you Father.
