“It is Only a Shadow”

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

It is somewhat amazing to me how the entire planet is walking in the valley of the shadow of death at this time. I am not minimizing the dangers but I am saying that there is a hope. I was reading this this morning about John G. Lake and his adventures during the dread Bubonic Plague. Here is the excerpt:

He helped to buried the people who died from the Bubonic Plague. He did not wear or use anything to protect himself. However, he never contracted the disease. The doctors were amazed and when they ask him, he answered ““Brother that is the ‘law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.’ I believe that just as long as I keep my soul in contact with the living God so that His Spirit is flowing into my soul and body, that no germ will ever attach itself to me, for the Spirit of God will kill it.”
Instead of being fearful, he is full of faith. Instead of being absorbent and drawing everything to himself, his spirit repels sickness and disease. He encouraged them to do an experiment with him. So they took the foam that come out of the dead and put it under microscope. They can see that the germs are still alive after the person died. However, when they touched John G Lake’s hand, they died instantly.
He said, “That is ‘the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.’ When a man’s spirit and a man’s body are filled with the blessed presence of God, it oozes out of the pores of your flesh and kills the germs.”
Isn’t this amazing? It is the power of God at work! My friends, if you are sick or fearful, read the Word of God. Connect yourself to God and contact God’s law of life. Let the Word protect you.

I guess it all boils down to, “Where do we put our trust or fears? As for me, God’s word has caused me to defeat cancer, not once but twice and I do believe, “Faith in God” is the answer.

Psalm 19:1-4a The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.

I look at this picture that was taken by the Hubble telescope and this scripture immediately comes to mind. But I also think of the entity that created all of this and so much more. Can we, I, begin to understand the magnitude of who we are dealing with when we say so casually, “God”. And in the face of what we see just in this one picture of one small segment of space, just how very insignificant our huge planet earth is, that we inhabit, is in relation to this. And to go even further, how incredibly small each one of us is in relation to the entire picture of what this God is in control of. And to go even further, He wants to have a personal relationship with each and every one of us.

Genesis 1:1a In the beginning, God… Through His voice, He spoke into existence everything we can see and hear from nothing that we can see. I am beginning to understand that everything is in a state of vibration which is so significant when we ‘speak’. I cannot see an atom or inside the atom, the protons and neutrons. Nor can I see beyond that to the quarks or even the strings which science is now letting us know that that is what we are dealing with when we talk about material things. All of these things are vibrating.

God does not write books but He has dictated to a lot of people who were able to hear His voice, a very significant volume of text called ‘The Bible’. This book shows a history of His dealings with the human race and also tells us how, in the New Covenant, to have a relationship with this awesome being. He has said, in His Word, that He loves us and to prove His love, He actually became the ultimate sacrifice upon a cross which was an extremely cruel form of administering the death penalty at the time.

BUT, His death was not the end of the story, He came back to life after three days and nights in a sealed tomb. Then to top it off, after forty days of proving His new life, He ascended up to heaven in the presence of a multitude of witnesses. His is a life eternal and He is offering us lowly humans the same eternal life with Him in His Kingdom. All one has to do is look at all He has created in the heavens and in the natural world if we might think eternity will be boring.

Enough said for this day and believe me, there is so very much more to say on His behalf.

Job 37:14 “Listen to this, O Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.”

I have to confess that I am addicted to the wondrous works of God. Here in Israel, we are confined to our apartment but fortunately, we are living on the ground floor with a patio and garden which no one else enters except for the three of us who live here. And we have several areas which need watering from time to time as well as looking after. Of course since I am constantly looking for new photos, our garden is the only place I can find the wondrous works. Thus, my specimens for today.
I am constantly amazed at all the varieties and designs of flowers and there are thousands of creations which I have yet to discover. I love to go to greenhouses and look at all the different things I have never seen before and to be honest I quite frequently run across something I have yet to photograph. I also am very fortunate that the cell phone I have does such a marvelous job in close-up work.
The bottom line of all this is that I am addicted and I am constantly amazed at God’s handiwork. The intricate formation and design and variety are beyond comprehension as is God Himself. I was reading, this morning from Ezekiel 1 and 2 how the Lord God was so magnificent that he, Ezekiel, was unable to describe accurately what he was seeing. The beginning of chapter two confirms that it was God Himself that he was seeing and listening to.
I have read many accounts of people who have had near death experiences where they were caught up to Heaven and described what they were witnessing and I try but cannot fully grasp what it or He must be like.
I look at the human body and all its individual parts such as the eye and ear and the design is so very intricate to accomplish is purpose in the body, I am in awe of the Creator. Even just looking at the body that we dwell in is so self-regulating in design, I find it so impossible for anyone to think there is no God or ultimate Creator. Yeah, the birds and the bees and flowers, there is no end to my amazement and to think, I have been called to be a witness to all this.
